Scorpio Ball

In November 1969 Princess Grace de Monaco (Grace Kelly) turned 40 and celebrated her birthday with the party of the century: the Scorpio Ball, aptly named so after her astrological sign. Elizabeth Taylor (her old friend from the Hollywood era) had the opportunity to wear the Taylor-Burton diamond in public for the first time, dazzling everybody with her new jewel and her timeless beauty.
